Pro Wrestling End of the Year Awards Official Results

Three months in the making, Sharp Shooter Press has worked diligently to scout the best of American Professional Wrestling throughout the year and it is now time to appreciate the best of wrestling in 2011.

2011 has been a very consistent year for Professional Wrestling. We saw wrestlers make a name for themselves, others were given their long overdue chance to shine, and others took leaps and bounds toward improving themselves to entertain their audiences. From small and upcoming promotions just getting their start to the pinnacle of sports entertainment, the WWE, we have seen and experienced many historic moments. As wrestling fans, and yes that is what we all are, it is only fair to express our gratitude and our thanks to the great men and women who have risked their bodies and lives in the squared circle.

On the eve of 2012, we at Sharp Shooter Press will run down our first ever End of the Year Awards. This idea is in its infantile stages and will grow as the website does. However, this year we have scouted what we feel was the most accurate results for the best of the best in Professional Wrestling. I would like to especially thank Steve Coleman, Shane Howard, Don Owens, "HeelRize," TJ Hawke, and all involved in assisting me in making this all possible. WWE PPV Preview: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs

 Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages, welcome to the monthly WWE PPV Preview, which will run down the card for the last WWE pay per view of 2011, WWE: TLC. For the first time in in recent memory, John Cena is not advertised on the card, which really makes me intrigued to see how he will be involved in the event. We will be granted with seeing a Triple Threat TLC bout as well as the first ever intriguing Chairs Match. Hype for the event has not been terrible nor anything spectacular.

Some weeks have been more consistent than others, but we are all preparing for the down time on WWE television before the Royal Rumble begins preparations for WrestleMania. It looks like a pretty good match card on paper, but nothing mind blowing. We can expect to find Cena make his way to the event as well as some sort of continuation of Kane's reincarnation, but for now I will go down the announced match card and predict who I feel will win each bout. Rewind: A Tribute to Eddie "Umaga" Fatu

 This article was written the day after Umaga's death in 2009, by myself while working with another website. I wanted to share this piece in order to tribute a true family man and a one of a kind entertainer, Umaga.

In the world of professional wrestling, we have seen the rise and the fall of many careers in the squared circle.

Some may frown upon the sport due to it being sports entertainment and the results are pre-planned, but some tend to be blinded in their own self assurance that wrestlers work just as hard if not harder than athletes of any other sport.

These men and women work over three hundred days per year, rarely see their families, and hardly receive time off unless there is an injury or something along those lines involved.
Needless to say that these men work to the bone to entertain us... the wrestling world, even to the point of risking their lives. Life as a wrestler is not what of which we depict on television.

Pro Wrestling End of the Year Awards Official Voting

After months of thorough investigation through the Pro Wrestling circuit in the United States this past year, the Sharp Shooter Press Awarding Committee has finally decided upon the final nominees for each of our nineteen awards to be bestowed in our inaugural edition of the Sharp Shooter Pro Wrestling Awards this year. With each year we want to be different in a certain way, but we took a more systematic approach this year.

While the final say in the votes will come down to the opinions of the committee, we today are revealing the nominees for each award, along with a special poll with each of them. We are giving the loyal readers an opportunity to voice their opinions and try and get who they feel is the right choice to win the award. Depending on the amount of voters, the polls will count as a percentile on the process to determine who will be the sole winner of each award. We encourage all to vote and spread the word! Polling will go until December 20th and the finalists will be named on December 27th for superlatives and December 30th for the ten primary awards. Those will be determined this week. Be sure to vote and, again, encourage others to share their opinions!

WWE '12: The Review

THQ has released its annual depiction of WWE programming, except this year they have promised a "Bigger, Badder, and Better" gaming experience. Did THQ and WWE hit a home run here in their latest development of video gaming, or was it only a step backwards for the struggling franchise?

The pure hype and excitement for this game, alone proves just how dedicated the producers at THQ are in terms of making the best wrestling game humanly possibly, but unfortunately, this title merely did not meet the through the roof expectations that this gamer had heading into GameStop. While, WWE '12 is not necessarily a bad game, it is one that really doesn't feel all that different as a whole in comparison to its predecessors.

What WWE '12 does right and does the best is without a doubt the entire visual presentation of the game. Featuring slightly enhances graphics from last year on top of brand new camera angles and an improved crowd that is watching the Superstars in action, WWE '12 succeeds at actually making you feel as though you are a living, breathing entity in the WWE Universe. Presentation in this game is like no other in the past, as WWE does all the "little things" right such as introduction packages to PPV events, pyro, and even improved trons throughout the arena during a Superstars entrance. It is obvious THQ had listened to their fans and for that, we say thank you for the best visual presentation that the WWE has yet to see in their licensed, annual game
