Pro Wrestling End of the Year Awards Official Voting

After months of thorough investigation through the Pro Wrestling circuit in the United States this past year, the Sharp Shooter Press Awarding Committee has finally decided upon the final nominees for each of our nineteen awards to be bestowed in our inaugural edition of the Sharp Shooter Pro Wrestling Awards this year. With each year we want to be different in a certain way, but we took a more systematic approach this year.

While the final say in the votes will come down to the opinions of the committee, we today are revealing the nominees for each award, along with a special poll with each of them. We are giving the loyal readers an opportunity to voice their opinions and try and get who they feel is the right choice to win the award. Depending on the amount of voters, the polls will count as a percentile on the process to determine who will be the sole winner of each award. We encourage all to vote and spread the word! Polling will go until December 20th and the finalists will be named on December 27th for superlatives and December 30th for the ten primary awards. Those will be determined this week. Be sure to vote and, again, encourage others to share their opinions!

Exclusive Interview: Eddie Edwards Discusses Survival of the Fittest, Kings of Wrestling, CHIKARA, and More!

 When you take a gander at the third biggest promotion in the United States, Ring of Honor, one of the names that is first brought up is, "Die Hard," Eddie Edwards. Being the first Triple Crown winner in ROH history and a former World Champion, Edwards is a New England native who has been a staple in Ring of Honor for years.

Also being half of one of the most renowned tag teams, the American Wolves, alongside current ROH Champion, Davey Richards, Edwards has done almost everything possible on the wrestling circuit at such a young age. Being an in ring specialist and one of the most renowned name in wrestling, I was able to catch up with Eddie before his bout at Survival of the Fittest tomorrow night! Rallo: First off, Eddie, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to do this interview. My first question has to be, you have recently been announced to take part in the upcoming ROH show, Survival of the Fittest 2011. There you will be joining the likes of Adam Cole, Rhett Titus, Kenny King, and Roderick Strong just to name a few on this very well known event for ROH. As a former winner of this tournament, can you give me your thoughts on this tournament and how you feel about taking part in it this year? You previously won it in 2010, which later propelled you to the World Championship. What are your thoughts on the tournament this year, and how it varies from previous years? Also, what did it feel like to win last year and how do you feel it impacted your career?

As previously announced last month, the Sharp Shooter Press will be instituting the newest revolution of diverse insight and well thought out contributions through the Sharp Shooter Press, Professional Wrestling End of the Year Awards. What makes these awards special are the gathering of some of the smartest minds in the Internet Wrestling Community, who have been working very in order to determine the most accurate Pro Wrestling End of the Year awards of all. Again, our Pro Wrestling Awards is very unique. Opposed to the status quo of undeserving names winning awards solely due to working in a big time wrestling organization. Myself and the awards committee has been scouting the entire year of Professional Wrestling throughout every organization in the United States possible. From January to December, each organization will be consistently evaluated and examined for the best and most deserving men and women for awards.

Exclusive Interview: Mike Quackenbush Talks CHIKARA on iPPV, Claudio to WWE, Training Talent, and More!

With CHIKARA presenting its first ever, iPPV, High Noon next month, I felt as though it was appropriate to talk to the man behind the organization, Mike Quackenbush. Quackenbush has been world renowned for his in ring ability, mind for the business, and his work as a trainer for some of the up and coming stars of this generation.

My first question is going right off the bat with CHIKARA's first ever iPPV, High Noon, which will take place on November 13th, in Philadelphia. Could you tell us, as the patriarch for CHIKARA, your personal feelings in regards to CHIKARA holding their first iPPV event in the promotion's history? What do you believe this means for the future of CHIKARA as a whole for the future? What are you looking forward to the most in regards to the event and what does the future hold for the promotion?

Exclusive Interview: Green Ant Discusses CHIKARA, King of Trios, Overcoming Injury, and More!

 Being best known for their King of Trios Tournament, held yearly, CHIKARA is home to the best six man tag team action in the world today. One of the most promising groups and last year's champions, The Colony had seized their first victory of the tournament. Soldier Ant and Fire Ant were recently accompanied by, Green Ant, who replaced Worker Ant, who had to retire due to injury.

Green Ant is a very unique competitor in CHIKARA, who has a more technical style opposed to the high flying niche that CHIKARA is renown for. He brings an innovative style and has captured the hearts of all CHIKARA fans for his, "Resilient Rookie" persona. Battling the likes of Mike Quackenbush and Tursas, Ant has become an underdog in CHIKARA. I was recently able to catch up with Green Ant and discuss a variety of topics!

Who were major influences in your life in and outside of the ring that motivated you to carry on this profession? Unity: The Necessities of Building Success in Tag Teams

Welcome to the first true, analysis piece for, The Sharp Shooter Press. Something I've always felt was very imperative to the wile world of , Pro Wrestling, is a simple tactic known as, variety. Wrestling fans can not be exposed to the same thing continuously over and over, otherwise, the product becomes stale. In, 2011, wrestling fans all over the world, who tune into the mainstream product, seem to lack variety in regards to the, in ring product.

Over the years, WWE has provided so many types of matches that offer individualism, different ways to progress storylines, and to entertain the fans in more ways than the basic one on one match.  All over the world, different gimmick matches do help develop different companies. For example, CHIKARA presents the King of Trios, a tournament for all six man tag team matches; something we do not see in WWE as prominently. Other companies pride themselves on all different kinds of matches, but one of the core match types that has really seemed forgotten in, WWE, is the tag team division.

NexGen Interviews: Introducing Alex Avgerinos

I'd like to welcome everyone to the inaugural edition of, "NexGen Interviews." What that is, is a project dedicated to helping out the true up and coming stars of the wrestling industry and giving them some spotlight and exposure as they grow and develop into becoming the next generation of Pro Wrestlers.

The first young man I am going to introduce to the world is one, Alex Avgerinos. A 17 year old athletic young talent who is all over North Carolina territories, "AA2" is a fan favorite amongst every territory he has been in and he did win the Krazy 8 Tournament held in North Carolina, a very prestigious honor for such a young competitor.
